Process: Mood Board Inspiration
Happy Friday, people!
Got any plans for the beautiful weekend? We have a couple full days ahead with friends, homemade pizza, and some DIY home projects involving lots of lumber and a nail gun (projects that may make a blog appearance soon!). Also, the weather here in Northern Virginia is forecasted to be amazing, so there's THAT.
But alas, it's still morning and there's lots of work to be done before 5:00. I'll be spending my Friday working on an exciting new logo project for a local wedding photographer.
The first step in the design process is curating this mood board that will serve as my main source of inspiration as I immerse myself in my client's world. I found images that I believe reflect her ideal audience and business aesthetic, which will serve as a drawing board for me as I begin sketching concepts.
Her target market is 20-30-somethings that are fun, laid back, active, and enjoy simple pleasures but also appreciate art, quality, and timeless trends. We're going for playful, classy, romantic, and clean with a bit of prep and sportiness, featuring beautiful gray/green hues with a splash of cheerful yellow. I know, that's a lot of adjectives, but I think this mood board pretty much nails it, and I'm really loving where this is going. So pretty, right? Now... the fun begins!
