I recently wrapped up a logo design project for my friend, Daniel, of Verse + Light Photography. Daniel is a talented wedding photographer in the Northern Virginia/DC area, and when he first told me he was ready for a rebrand and asked me to help with a new logo, I was sold. I knew this would be a fun and challenging project, since he's a dude, and I knew I'd be stretched creatively to design in a more masculine style - quite the contrast from my usual more feminine brands and clients. So, challenge accepted, I believe we really ended up with something that was truly a collaborative effort and reflects Daniel well.
Throughout the design process, this logo took on several different personalities. However, after much collaboration and sharing of ideas, we ended up with a type-heavy logo supporting a military-inspired icon that captures the V and L from his business name, hints of Daniel's military background, and a strong interplay within the lines, representing the relationship between "verse" (storytelling) and "light" (photography). We ended up with a main logo and several iterations, giving Daniel plenty of pieces to work with across various platforms.
I'm so pleased with the final outcome but more thrilled to have a happy client who now has a strong logo collection that he can be proud of and give his business a fresh boost. Looking forward to seeing how Daniel uses the logo and other pieces going forward and am excited to watch his business continue to grow!
Also, Daniel is currently offering Fall Family Photo Sessions to raise money for their adoption.
