Behind the Scenes: Jane Austen-Inspired Wedding

I recently participated in a Jane Austen-inspired styled wedding shoot, coordinated by my friend Jenny of Jenny B Photography, along with local stylist and planner, Janie Marsan of The Artful Wanderlust, and other talented vendors in the area.

The shoot was located at the American Horticultural Society at River Farm in Alexandria, VA, situated right along the Potomac River just down the road from George Washington's Mount Vernon home. It provided the most beautiful, historical backdrop for our shoot, and even the weather warmed up that day so we could shoot everything outdoors. We had an excellent team of vendors that contributed to the shoot, and we enjoyed a day of setting up, styling, sharing our various gifts, and capturing pretty photos.

I loved being able to contribute the paper goods and signage! I designed a British countryside/garden-styled wedding invitation suite and dinner menu, as well as a hand-lettered sign featuring a Pride and Prejudice quote (oh, Mr. Darcy...) in a beautiful vintage frame.

We are hoping to get the feature published in a credible online wedding blog, so until then, all I can share with you is some behind-the-scenes outtakes of the day so you can see a snippet of the process behind it all. All vendors and details are at the end of the post.
